water n They'd put [the seal oil] in shallow tanks with a glass roof on it and they'd bleach the oil by sun and ship it away in wooden barrels. It was called 'water white' seal oil. A good lot of it at them times was shipped around the world to the various churches and they'd have a floating light. It was also used for the manufacture of soap.
