When you knocked it someone caught your tidley stick before it hit the ground you were out. When it was thrown in you had to try to hit it with the puss stick. If you hit it behind the hole you were out but if you hit it out in front you measured off the distance with your puss-stick and counted one point for each length. When you _tiddleyed_ you were out if someone caught your tidley stick but if not caught you counted the number of Puss-stick lengths as points. Forty Five was a game and if someone on your side had been OUT and you made a complete game without missing a turn that person was IN again.
