Summary:_The_ Green Bay The article "the" is always used before the name "Grren Bay", at least my Newfoundlanders who are accustomed to referring to it. I noticed this several times used by people who have lived in that area of the island. I checked with Mr. Boyd Trask who has lived in various communities throughout Newfoundland, and he agreed that this was the standard way of referring to Green Bay, but no other bay in the province has this distiction. One would say, however, Nipper's Harbour, Green Bay. "The" is only used when the bay alone is being referred to, and not a specific community in it. Not used Not used Withdrawn
