Summary: | panning vbl n When small pans of ice break away from the main frozen part when spring is approaching, the young children of Harbour Deep usually spend their time running back and forth on these pans. This is called petite panning ('piddy' pronounced by the people of Harbour Deer). This is derived from the french word petite which means small referring to the fact that the ice pans are small. I experienced the thrill of petite panning when I was a child. JH 6/75 Used I Not used Withdrawn COPYING |
