"You uses a flagin' iron to put it in." [see 'slough'] Explanantion: The bull rush is a bout 1/2 inch in diameter (about 3 1/2 " - 4" long_ at its widest point and tapers off. It is not grown in Newfoundland as far as the informant is aware. It is, of, approximately the same texture and colour as cardboard, the kind found in most packing cartons.
