This rock, if discovered when potatoes were being washed to cook with their "jackets" on, would be boiled with the potatoes. It would then be kept as a charm to cure toothache. A person who has toothache, would usually put the rock in his shirt pocket or wrap it up in a piece of cloth and wear it around his neck.
