neither - uses and corruptions of 1. Both words are used alone and with "or" or "nor" as in correct grammar. 2. Both are used indiscrimenately interchangeably to mean "any" or indefinite article in sentences such as the following: (a) Do you have either one? (meaning "any" or "one" in this case.) (b) No I haven't got either/neither one. (c) Got arne? - No, narne. (meaning same as (a) and (b). (d) I haven't got either pencil. (e) I (have not) got neither pencil. (double negatives are common) (f) I haven't got "er'a"one. (g) I got "ner'a" one. (OVER) 3. "Either" is used as "also" or "as well" or "too" as follows: (a) I'm not going either. (b) I haven't got either one either. _Note_: The two common standard pronunciations for both these words are used interchangeably.
