But I did one time see _th' Old Feller_[PT], and heard un, with his _chain_. I was courtin' -she is there - before we were married. I was comin' from over the other side [of] the church there. _Dark_ as the pitch! Never afraid yet! _Dark_ as pitch! I'm walkin' about two or three minutes. There's nothing come ahed.comin' towards me, only a rattle o' _chain_! "Now," I says, "I often hear talk o' _the Old Feller_ [PT] with his _chain_! Well now he's comin' now after me tonight!" He's still comin' and I'm out walkin' slow, 'cause I don't know which way to get clear un. But he's come! _THe Old Feller's_ [PT] comin' rattlin' his chain! And when I gets by the school there I meets un! It's _th'Old Feller_ [PT] all right! This was a dog with about six fathom o' _chain_ on him, and that goin' from one side the road to the other! Yeah. The only time I seen [HIM?] (in) my life! Yes _The "Old Feller"_ is comin', rattlin' his _chain!_ Frightening figure explained.
