| Summary: | outport n All the outports grew quite unplanned, though usually facing the sea. Simple wooden houses, ranging from primitive one-roomed shacks to substantial but still plain two-storied dwellings, were perched higgledy-piggledy as the terrain allowed, wherever there was space and solid ground for a foundation.
