Of course there were no stick pins, they were _he's peens_ [PT] in cops La Pune and in other parts of the South West Coast [my instructor in this cause [Reverse] tells me that he has never heard the term "stick pin" to mean a pin with a head: To him it is simply a "pin". You had to have some way of distinguishing between a safety pin and a stick pin, so that is probably why we have to two terms. From the age of around when I moved to [inc] Rus Basques I heard the term "stick pin" for the pin with the head. This term is in general use in all parts of nfld I understand. Yes DICT CEN.
