labrador n The geographical designation "Labrador" is used in both a broad and restricted sense. One usage is in reference to the vast peninsula.stretching from the Atlantic coast west to the eastern shores of Hudson and James Bays, and from Hudson Strait south to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Strait of Belle Isle. The Term is also used in its res- tricted sense to mean the Atlantic coast of this peninsula, the coast from Cape Chidley to the Strait of Belle Isle.
