Description
Summary:scoff n For lunch.Hayward Parsons offered to regale us with what he described as a real Newfondland "Scoff". His first act was to scour a huge iron pot, normally used for barking the fishermen's nets. This was filled with water and placed over a huge fire on the rocks. Then into it went several great pieces of fat salt pork, three or four cabbages, a sackful of potatoes and a few plum duffs for luck. It may sound a terrible concoction but it provides and excellent meal. PRINTED ITEM DNE-cit G. M. Story JAN 1973 JH JAN 1973 used I and Sup used I and Sup Not used scaff Printed Item, DNE-cit
