Summary: | seraphim . . . the wooden chapel of 1816 had its fine appointments too. . . . For some years also the instrumental section included a seraphine (known locally as a "seraphim"), an early kind of reed- instrument played on a keyboard rather like a reed-organ. Years later this venerable instrument was donated to the chapel built at Long Pond, near Topsail, and in 1880 became the subject of an interesting and curious footnote to local church history.
