Ned was always away on the boats. Peter stayed at home + kept things in order. After Uncle Tom's death, peter decided to have the house moved up the road about 100 yds away from the garden. In order to move a house a 'launch' had to be organized. Finally the house was moved up to the road. About two months later another 'launch' and the house was moved backed down to the Garden. Peter claimed that Uncle Tom came back to him and said he was displeased [reverse] with the house, and wanted it moved back. It's very convincing when one considers the amount of time and work that goes into a launch.
