| Summary: | some intens The people of Newfoundland tended/ and still tend to use the word "some" in a unique way. They use it to express a high degree of excellence. "Some" is used in the following sentence to illustrate this: "She is "some" good at playing tennis." or She is "some" nice to me, she waits for me evey day after school. I guess "some" in these sense means "very". I have often heard people say that so-and so is "wonderful good". The espression is still used today in many parts of Newfoundland. (Heard the word used inSt. John's, Logy Bay, Torbay, Swift Current.
