Description
Summary:Mosies 'Would you also describe the boats that were in use during the early, and probably late, 19th century, known as "Mosies", giving their approximate size, rig, if any, and whether decked or not. I am inclined to think that the name "Bulley" or "Bully" displaced the name "Mosies". I have not yet seen the singular of Mosies. I suppose it could be Mosey. Here is a part entry from one of Slade's journals: ".raining in the evening - some fish obtained by the mosies in the bight, and skiffs from across the bay." The entry is dated Friday 19th June 1829. See cited quotation. PRINTED ITEM Not used Not used Withdrawn [see 'Mozey']
