Fishermen are en- gaged by the Planter, from the beginning of May to the 20th of October, as they have no general means of employing themselves during the remain- der of the year, they are obliged to obtain as much WAGES for six month's servitude, as will support them twelve. If a Planter had a farm, he would engage his servant for twelve months, for the same, and even smaller wages, than he now pays for six months.
