PRINTED ITEM DNE Sup Author doesn't quote the French: This figure was obtained by subtracting from the gross amount of the sale, expenses jointly incurred by outfitter and crew., return expenses for those men returning by sackships, as well as the amount of the "pratiques" (bonuses) [etc.]. If this isn't in Fr. dictionaries, I will drop B. a note.
