Description
Summary:sail n On Paddy's Day my father and I were discussing some of the customs around home on Paddy's day like everyone wearing green etc. However, one I had never heard was that the men when they used to go in the woods on Paddy's Day wouldalways get a green [check] [reverse] bough, preferably a pine, and put at the top of the _sail_ on the slide. This custom has completely disappeared since no one brings wood home on slides driven by _sails_ anymore. The sails were much like those in boats. They could be of various shapes and sizes, but were usually squares or triangular shape.
