Summary: | seal nation Two great Eastern seal-nations are known to exist: the Hudson Bay herd and that of Baffin Bay. Whether both harps and hoods live in Hudson Bay I cannot tell; but certainly the Baffin Bay herd is rich enough in both./ The two species, though they never mix, are motivated by the same wandering instinct, which drives them in a vast, never- ceasing ambit of travel; the largest movement of animal life, by far, of any in the world. A seal nation has been reported on the east coast of Greenland; but its movements are not known. PRINTED ITEM W Kirwin 9/76 W. J. KIRWIN OCT 1976 JH 9/76 Not used Not used Withdrawn
