Description
Summary:baff v This expression was collected from Margaret Thornhill, a stenographer at the General Hospital. She heard it at work from another stenographer, Heather Fennessey, a native of St. John's. Heather was going through some files one day, when she said "My these files are all baffed out." Margaret asked her the explanation and she said it meant that they are worn out and it was time to get new ones. Heather said she had heard the expression used several times in school by the nuns.
