I was somewhat chagrined to find that the identification I had made of "alexander" in editing Cartwright's Journals was an erronous one, but I am glad to have this opportunity to/ correct it. It is not, as I supposed, the cow-parsnip, - a very common plant here, - but a smaller plant of the same family known as "Scotch lovage." PRINTED ITEM DNE-cit G.M.
