In some communities, one or both of these terms are known, and it would require a thorough historical and geographical investigation to give a precise account of their distribution and usage. In a few communities, other words are known as well as or instead of mummers or janneys. Here is a sampling: _jennies_ in Goulds, S.S., Kelligrews C.B., and Lewisporte, N.D.B; _darbies_ in Avondale, C.B., Colinet, S.M.B., Mount Carmel, S.M.B; _johnnies_ in Change Islands, N.D.B. and Upper Island Cove, C.B.; _fools_ in Cappahayden, S.S. Renews, S.S., Shoal Harbour, T.B., and Torbay, near St. John's; _dress-ups_ in Port Rexton, T.B., Swift Current, P.B., Twillingate, N.D.B., and Dark Cove, B.B.; _mumpers_ in Fortune, F.B.; _maskers_ in Placentia, P.B.; _mickies_ in St. Lawrence P.B.; _geezers_ in Little Bay East, F.B.; _barneys_ in Charlottetown, B.B.; _white boys_ in Clarke's Beach, C.B.
