It would be made of boughs to form a wreath with 4 candles placed on it, they would be lit each day for the 3 weeks of Advent.2 My mother never heard of the wreath to be an _object_ but she says as a child they would make Advent [Reverse] Wreaths which would mean a spiritual wreath.It would consist of an offetory of prayers which they would say during the 3 weeks.it could include 1,000 Hail Marys 100 Our Fathers 10 Stations of the Cross etc. I too did this as a school girl but always connected An advent Wreath with the object which was made by the students. it is still made at Advent in some classes.
