Description
Summary:half [Front] The evidence, as I understand its effect, also established, that the men regularly engaged in a cod-seine boat as its permanent crew shared half the catch of the boat in proportion to their numbers, that where the same men worked the cod-seine boat and also the hook-and-line they generally shared half the produce of both boats in the same proportion; and that in those instances. in which, as here, there were two crews and two boats, each man received half his catch on the hook-and-line and a man's share of the fish taken by the cod-seine on those days in which he was employed in the cod-seine boat. That except in the way of bounty, as mentioned, no (over) [Reverse] shareman ever received more than half his hand, or received fish which he did not participate in taking. G.M.
