Description
Summary:hoist n The other problem with twine was that the rabbit might bite it off and get away. The way the oldtimers got around this was to rig up a hoister. First they would bend down a nice springy birch or the like where they planned to tail the slip. Then they would make a little wooden toggle, tie one end of a string to that, and the other to a small tree, and hook the toggle in a notch cut in the bent sapling. With the snare fastened to this sapling, the slightest tug and up would fly the rabbit in the air. PRINTED ITEM DNE Sup G. M.
