Oh I.yes there are supposed to be other places, but I can't recall now. But I know - ths is something I didn't tell you on the paper [ie the FLCQ] either - that every year without fail, an' even now, there -> is.there is a _dressup_ [PT] in Greenspond. Somebody, around the.February or March month, dresses up and goes around and steals clothes off lines, frightens people an' is a.oh, weird-lookin' char- acter. JW. Now do you remember what the disguise was like? M. Well.I've never seen him, but. JW. What time does he operate? At night? M. Late at _night_. JW. And you say 'him' : it's usually a man that does this? M. Yes. Mr. Carter, probably this would help you,Mr Carter probably forty years ago,Gus Carter in Greens -pond, he was aware of _the.dressup_ [PT]. An' one night he went home with his girlfriend, about forty years ago, and he saw _the [check] dressup_ [PT] coming down over the church hill. And so usually people would run away from him [ie from _the dressup_] and he made after him [ie Carter chased _the dressup_] and he caught him up behind the church an' he stripped him,an' found out who hs was. And all the people in Greenspond for years after that knew who this part- icular _dressup_ [PT] was. An' I suppose probably after that there weren't any _dressups_ [PT] for several years, but.well every year that I could remember down to [ie at] Greenspond, there has been a _dressup_ [PT]. And there are two girls staying OVER. [reverse] in the house where I am now [ie in St John's] and to make it quite alive: this year in probably.a month ago, their mothers wrote up to them an' said that _the Dressup_ [PT] was out last week! So that shows that that must be still alive, but who it is I.I.I don't know. JW. Only one person does it? M. Yes. JW. An' it's aroun -d February - March? M. Right. JW. For no particular reason?
