We used a dog team which consisted of nine Huskies. There was a system of words which were used to control the dogs. These words were directed at the lead dog and the rest of the teem followed her. Those words were: _hold in_ - to continue in the same direction _keep off_ - make a right or left turn which my father indicated by holding out his arm in the required direction. _at see_ - to go woa - to stop My grandfather also used these words they have been not only with our family but with the community as far back as people can [reverse] remember. I cannot say if there is really any such thing as dog language but I know for a fact that these words worked when controlling dogs because has I have already said dogs were very much a part of our lives and many a time I would use them for whatever they were required for.
