Ceiling "In the case of a church, a ceiling under the tie beams, or at least under the collar, is thought the proper thing." " The beams or joints of the ceiling are exposed, and several strips of wood are nailed across them. These are called "racks" and on them are placed guns, scythe-blades and other articles which are to be kept out of the reach of children."
