Hiscock was born February 14, 1915 in Winterton, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. He lived in Winterton all his life where he worked as a fisher. Mr. Hiscock did, however, spend some years working seasonally in the town of Buchans for the American Smelting and Refining Company (ASARCO).
