Description
Summary:This Internship Report documents an internship at a high school in rural Newfoundland during Spring 1997. The report is divided into two sections, a placement component and a research component. The placement component consists of a description of the internship setting, the goals and objectives of the internship, and an evaluation of the experience. The research component is a comparative study that compares substance use/abuse at a rural Newfoundland high school with the Provincial 1996 Student Drug Use Survey. A modified version of the 1996 Student Drug Use Survey was administered to all high school students at the internship setting. The findings revealed important differences in substance use/abuse patterns.
