A printed manual was selected as the most appropriate medium. A Preliminary Version was produced, which was evaluated by content and audience specialists, and a sample of the target audience. It was also reviewed by the manufacturers of the equipment. Subsequently a final 1981 Edition was produced. -- A panel of experts rated the final version good to excellent. Pilot testing indicated that after extended periods of no practice or exposure to the specialized equipment, target audience representatives could successfully answer questions on operating procedures through reference to the manual.
