Summary: | The effects of solar and atmospheric corrections, and the linear contrast stretch, band ratioing and video filtering enhancements on Landsat data were studied for two areas of northern Canada. Studies were carried out using computer compatible tapes on an image analysis system and both numerical and visual evaluations were made. It was determined that solar and atmospheric corrections may not be sufficient to standardize Landsat data between different dates of imagery. In contrast, however, it was found that the linear contrast stretch and the band ratioing enhancements effectively emphasized the ground surface patterns. The video filtering enhancement was insufficient to enhance the image. Master of Science (MS) |
