Applying the method of linguistic paleontology, in the present article the Uralic homeland and following migrations are mapped. The Uralic homeland is located in the area between the Ural Mountains in the west and the middle Yenisei River in the east, and from the Arctic Circle in the north to the southern border of taiga in the foothills of the Sayany and Altai mountains. The following migrations are reconstructed in agreement with absolute chronology of sequential disintegration based on glottochronology and with respect of loanwords borrowed from various neighbouring languages. |
