The larger feldspar grains are interpreted to represent relict phenocrysts in a volcanic rock prior to metamorphism. The rocks in this member of the Bucksport Formation are interpreted to represent deformed and metamorphosed Late Silurian volcanic rocks of intermediate to mafic composition.
