The species is described and illustrated and localities where plant collections were made by the AAE clarified. Other specimens collected by the AAE have been revised and they represent the following species: Ceratodon purpureus (Hedw.) Brid., Syntrichia sarconeurum Ochyra & R. H. Zander, Orthogrimmia sessitana (De Not.) Ochyra & Żarnowiec, Schistidium antarctici (Cardot) L. I. Savicz & Smirnova, and Bryum pseudotriquetrum (Hedw.) P. Gaertn., B. Mey. & Scherb.
