Description
Summary:Throughout this chapter we use the terms Indigenous, First Nations Peoples and Aboriginal as terms referring to the Traditional Owners of the nations discussed. The authors acknowledge that they are both non-Indigenous researchers learning and working alongside Indigenous communities with an intention to enter into respectful and efficacious dialogue on the subject of conducting research within Indigenous community contexts. Hence, we understand our position as ‘outsiders’ seeking to build relationships and engage the appropriate protocols and methods to ensure that research with Indigenous communities is culturally appropriate and inclusive.
