Summary:Background: The employee survey has become increasingly popular in organizations all around the world, since it is a tool for the development of the workplace or as a measurement of the psychosocial work environment. With help from the results, change in the organization or improvement the psychosocial work environment can be realized. Despite the employee surveys breakthrough, more and more organizations have begun to question the method, as results cannot always be fully utilized. Piteå kommun, but other organizations as well, have now come to a point where the organization wants to evaluate the employee survey, as it requires considerable resources in terms of knowledge, time and money. Purpose: To examine how managers and supervisors in Piteå kommun experience working with the results of the employee survey. Method: A quantitative survey study was conducted in Piteå kommun, in which 115 managers and supervisors participated. The respondents worked in eight different departments in the organization. Results: To work with the outcome of the employee survey is experienced as difficult by many of the respondents and the main reason, which inhibited the managers’ and the supervisors' work, was the lack of resources. Conclusion: Managers and supervisors in Piteå kommun feel that the work with the results of the employee survey is difficult and that the employee survey gives mainly a current status report of the organization. From a management perspective, organizations should use a method that shows how employees are feeling over along for a long period.
