Large measures are needed for society to be able to cope with the transition to achieve a sustainable society. This report examines how the electricity consumption can be reduced of a medium sized company, Pet-food in Norrfjärden, Piteå. Examination of built documentation, technical documentation, interviews and onsite measurement lay the foundation for the achieved results. The company’s largest electricity consumers are identified as well as opportunities for improvement in the continuous routine work for energy saving. Measures for saving energy in the warehouse lighting and operational optimization for the heating cables are investigated and shows how the business can reduce its electricity consumption by about 118 000 kWh per year. Large amounts of energy can be saved by changing existing lighting to more energy effective lighting and by eliminating the need for ground heating cables.
