Summary: | c) decentralization of heat supply and establishment of small boiler-houses, which represent new sources of air pollutions and provide a good reason to expect an increase of the concentrations of some pollutants (sulphur dioxide in particular). As a result of combined effect of increasing green-house gases' concentration and decreasing emissions into the atmosphere the background values of the concentrations of pollutants will, apparently, change negligibly. Many climate models based on the input data including the greenhouse gas concentrations show that the greatest changes tend to occur in the mid-latitudes in cold seasons. The zonal circulation in the North Atlantic will increase strengthening the zonal circulation above the South Baltic. The intensifying activity of atmospheric fronts will increase precipitation. However, the heat advection will strengthen in the middle troposphere and serve as an additional energy for synoptic vortices. It is likely that after 2020 the advection of the positive vortex will increase in Lithuania reducing the probability of free atmosphere inversions in cold season. According to model results the summer precipitation values will decrease but the anticyclonic fields will occur more frequently. The increasing frequency of summer anticyclonic conditions will favour the atmospheric pollution in urban territories. Especially unfavourable conditions for dispersion of pollutants will occur at nights. |
