The texts were collected in sixties of the 19-th century by P. N. Rybnikov in the former Olonec government (now the Karelian Republic), but they were not given a proper attention by researchers. The texts are analyzed in the context of the local Onega lake district's tradition. They are compared with the variants from the other regions of North Russia. The bylina about the hero Michail Danilovich is in the repertoire of Lazarev. This epic song is rare in Onega district. A lot of elements characteristic of bylinas of Onega district are found in both these texts and other Lazarev's epic songs. The evident connections are presented with the epic tradition of the Archangelsk-White Sea district, too. Apparently, the singer was associated with the narrators from various districts. He managed to remake creative epic motifs and stereotypes he had learned from them. The repertoire of Dmitrijeva is common for Onega district. Original (individual) or unique details and formulas attracted the attention of compilers of popular bylinas books. The published texts have influenced the singers connected with books of Russian bylinas. The traces of influence by Karelian-Finish epic songs were found neither in the content nor in the style of variants under analysis.
