Description
Summary:The studies were carried out in August 2007 and 2008. Abundance of turbot and flounder juveniles has been investigated in natural light/dark conditions. The investigation was carried out within 24 hours with 4-hour intervals at 9 h, 13 h, 17 h, 21 h, 1 h at night and 5 h in the morning. The ratio of abundance of juveniles of these species has been found to change within 24 hours. The greatest abundance of turbot and flounder 0+age class was noted during the dark period. In different years the catches of flounder 0+age class were 2,4-3,0 times greater compared with those of turbot. However, at 1 h at night this difference increases up to 6,4-9,2 times.
