There were 52 types of habitats in Lithuania which are protected by EU habitats directives. The habitats classification was mostly stand on plants communities, which influence specific insects' communities. Fennoscandian deciduous swamp wood is broadleaved swamp woodland on acid or nonacid peat. Fennoscandian deciduous swamp woods settle in localities with low swamp, near lakes. The Fungus gnats (Diptera, Mycetophilidae) are insects typical to forests habitats. Different habitats were vary from each other by fungus gnats species diversity, species complex and by characteristic and dominants species. There was 23 species of fungus gnats registered in fennoscandian deciduous swamp woods habitat. The eudominants species in this habitat were fungus gnats Mycetophilafungorum (index of dominance 34%), Boletina cincticornis (24%). Dominant species were M. signatoides (9%) ir M. strigatoides (1% subdominants - Allodia grata (4%), Mycetophila luctuosa (4%), Neuratelia nemoralis (3%) and Boletina basalts (2%), The fungus gnat's fauna was rather specific - about quarter characteristic species were recorded only in this habitat. The dominant and specific fungus gnat species recorded in this habitat have different biology. Their larvae were trophic related with fungi of various taxa, some developing in the forest floor, decaying wood with mycelium.
