Description
Summary:The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and the Arctic Oscillation (AO) have a strong influence on the European climate and reflect opposing variations of barometric pressure near Iceland and Azores and the strength of circumpolar vortex respectively. The dynamics of winter NAO indices causes long-term fluctuations of air temperature and hydrothermal regimes in Lithuania. The warm (cold) winters in Lithuania are related to the positive (negative) NAO precipitation.
