Vėgėlių (Lota lota (lineus)) jauniklių mityba ir jos pokyčiai skirtingomis aplinkos sąlygomis

The diet of burbot is analysed and described in this study. The aim of the study is to evaluate changes in burbot diet in different water temperature conditions. The following tasks were also set: to determine diet spectrum of the studied fish; to estimate detection rate of diet components; to compa...

The aim of the study is to evaluate changes in burbot diet in different water temperature conditions. The following tasks were also set: to determine diet spectrum of the studied fish; to estimate detection rate of diet components; to compare diet similarity in different length burbot groups as well as to determine experimentally the ration of daily diet and to evaluate instantaneous growth of burbot. The object of this study is burbot (Lota lota). The diet of burbot was studied in 2003-2005. The diet was studied after making the analysis of food components found in the intestine. The ration of a daily diet and growth in different water temperature conditions were tested experimentally. Our results showed that food components found in burbot the belong to five genera and higher taxa; amphipods and mysids were most commonly found in burbot intestine; diet is least similar between I and II groups of burbot - over covering coefficient of niches is 14,8%. The most similar diet was found between III and IV groups - over covering coefficient of niches is 54,8%; the highest instantaneous growth of 0,021 ± 0,002 cmˉ¹/dayˉ¹ was set in length group II in water temperature of 14,5 ± 0,21ºC.
