Bakalaura darba galvenais mērķis ir pētīt Ziemeļamerikas ziemeļrietumu krasta indiāņu priekšstatus par laiku un telpu un to attēlojumu viņu mītos. Lai šo mērķi sasniegtu, bakalaura darba autore ne tikai pētīja zinātniskās teorijas par mitoloģiju, kosmoloģiju, laiku un telpu Ziemeļamerikas ziemeļrietumu krasta indiāņu mītos, bet arī analizēja Cimšiāņu, Tlinkitu un Haida cilšu stāstus. Šo trīs Ziemeļamerikas ziemeļrietumu krasta ziemeļu tautu cilšu mītos, salīdzinot ar šī reģiona centrālajām un dienvidu tautām, Ziemeļamerikas ziemeļrietumu krasta kultūras tradīcijas ir pārstāvētas vislabāk. Ziemeļamerikas ziemeļrietumu krasta indiāņu laika un telpas sistēma pilnībā atšķiras no rietumu kultūras konvencijām. Pirmkārt, tā nesaskan ar progresīvajām idejām, un, otrkārt, viņu pasaulē viss ir savstarpēji saistīts. The primary goal of the Bachelor Thesis is to investigate the representations of the concepts of time and space in the mythologies of the North American Northwest Coast Indians. To achieve the goal of the research paper the author has studied and analysed the scholarly research on mythology, cosmology, concepts of time and space in the North American Northwest Coast mythologies. The author of the BA has selected the narratives of the Tsimshian, Tlingit and Haida people for the purposes of the analysis as these three tribes belong to the northern grouping of the North American North Pacific Coast among which in comparison to central and southern groups, the characteristic traits of the Northwest Coast culture are most strongly developed. The spatiotemporal system of the North American Northwest Coast Indians differs radically from the conventions of Western culture as, in the first place, it does not conform to the idea of progress; secondly, they see everything in the world closely and reciprocally related.
