| Summary: | Jebkurš dialekts ir vēstures un valodas attīstības liecība, kas parāda cilvēka izcelsmi, kā arī vieno šajā dialektā runājošo sabiedrību psiholoģiski, tādējādi tas ir nemateriālās kultūras mantojums, ko nepieciešams saglabāt un nodot tālāk nākamajām paaudzēm. Šī Bakalaura darba mērķis bija noskaidrot Ņūfaundlendas dialekta leksikas, fonētikas un gramatikas atšķirības un dažādību salīdzinot ar literāro angļu valodu. Darba izstrāde balstījās uz teoriju analīzi par literāro angļu valodu, tās dialektiem, Ņūfaundlendas angļu valodas īpatnībām; vēsturiskajiem, sociālajiem un ģeopolitiskajiem dialekta ietekmes aspektiem un empīrisko pētījumu par Ņūfaundlendas angļu valodas dialekta gramatikas, fonētikas un leksikas īpatnībām Persija Džeinsa (Percy Janes) romānā House of Hate (romāns nav tulkots latviešu valodā). Pētījuma rezultāti apstiprina hipotēzi, ka Ņūfaundlendas dialekts ir saglabājies un tas ir dokumentēts rakstveidā. Tālākā izpēte varētu tikt virzīta uz valodas izteiksmes līdzekļu, valodas stila un vārdu krājuma detalizētāku izpēti. Every dialect is the evidence of history, language development and it shows the origin of people as well as unites the society speaking the particular dialect psychologically; therefore, it is the intangible cultural heritage worth to be preserved and passed on to next generations. The goal of the bachelor paper was to identify the specific features of lexical, phonetic and grammatical aspects of Newfoundland English in comparison with the Standard English language. The research was based on the investigation of theories on Standard English, Newfoundland English linguistic features, and the aspects of historical, social, geopolitical events affecting the dialect. The empirical research comprises discourse analysis of specific linguistic examples compiled in the corpus of the mentioned examples from Percy Janes` novel House of Hate. The results of the analysis confirm that the Newfoundland English dialect exists in all three language usage aspects in a form of grammatical, phonetic and lexical specific features. The prospective research could include more detailed investigation of stylistic devices, language style and vocabulary of Newfoundland English in the following novel.
