The patients both had signs of chorioretinitis and cerebral calcifications and were treated with combination therapy of pyrimethamine, sulfonamide and folinic acid, alternating with spiramycin. Tilgangurinn með skrifum þessum er að vekja athygli á, að meðfædd bogfrymlasótt (toxoplasmosis congenita) er til á Íslandi. Forvarnir, einkum fræðsla fyrir ófrískar konur, eru einfaldasta og hagkvæmasta leiðin til að stemma stigu við þessum sjúkdómi.
