The Institute of Laboratory Medicine at Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavik, Iceland, has installed a temperature monitoring and alarm system for freezers, incubators, and refrigerators as a part of its quality program. This paper describes the key features of the system, how it works, and what has been learned.
