Summary: | Desk belongs to future Kaunas Art Deco museum. Object‘s table top and lockers‘ frame are made of between connected pine boards (joinery boards), on top and the bottom glued flaming birch wood panels. Tabletop‘s front and back border part is covered with carelian birch veneers. The exact date of desk production is unknown, supposedly, it was made in the fourth decade of XX century, circa 1930. The table is made by Jonas Prapuolenis for unknown client. What is known, that the desk was used at school, in a Lithuanian language classroom. Later given for a personal use of a teacher which worked in that classroom. Furniture is given to the museum by Daugira Mikalauskienė. The last place of use of the table is Gervėnupiai gardens. The object was given to be conserved – restored because of its bad condition. The purpose of this work is to preserve and restore the desk to its previous aesthetic condition and prepare it to be exhibited. Some parts of the object's surface is covered with everyday dirt and spoiled with paint of unknown origin, the surface's finish is partially worn out, there are many cracks and losses, especially at the flaming birch wood panels area. Some parts of karelian birch veneers are loose and crumbled. Surface of black and brown staining finish is worn out. Construction is unstable. To reach the goal of this work there were theoretical material analysis, object's research, preservation and restoration processes accomplished. Also furniture documentation was prepared. After accomplishing preservation and restoration works, desk is ready for storage and exhibition at the future Kaunas Art Deco museum. Rašomasis stalas priklauso būsimam Kauno Art Deco muziejui. Objekto stalviršio bei spintelių korpusas pagamintas iš tarpusavyje sujungtų pušies lentų (stalių plokštės), apklijuotų beržo vienužio medienos lentutėmis.
